What is In-Home & Community Support?
In-Home and Community Supports (IHCS) is a highly flexible service aimed at helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities lead more independent lives. Whether it’s mastering a new skill at home or exploring the Lehigh Valley, our staff provides the “scaffolding” needed for individuals to reach their personal goals.
We meet you where you are—physically, emotionally, and socially.
Key Areas of Support
We focus on the “Life Skills” that create true autonomy. Our Direct Support Professionals assist with:

Daily Living Skills: Learning to cook healthy meals, managing household chores, and personal organization.

Financial Literacy: Assistance with basic budgeting, learning to use an ATM, and practicing safe shopping habits.

Health & Wellness: Support with exercise routines, grocery shopping for specialized diets, and attending medical appointments.

Community Navigation: Learning to use public transportation (LANTA), identifying local resources, and practicing safety in the community.

Social Inclusion: Finding local clubs, volunteer opportunities, or recreational activities that match the individual’s interests.
A Person-Centered Approach
No two people have the same goals. Our IHCS program is built around the Individual Support Plan (ISP). We work closely with families and Support Coordinators to ensure that our time spent with the individual is productive, safe, and—most importantly—aligned with what they want for their life.
